Updated

Version 1.0

Coming soon

Open and extract

  • RAR4, RAR5 and RAR7, including password-protected archives, encrypted file names and dictionaries over 64 MB
  • Multi-part sets (.part1.rar, .r00, .7z.001, .z01, .zip.001), with missing parts reported before extracting
  • 7Z including AES-256; ZIP including Zip64, AES, ZipCrypto and Deflate64
  • TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, ZST and LZ4 (and their tar combinations), ISO and UDF, CPIO, CAB, LZH, XAR, ARJ and WIM
  • Automatic detection of non-UTF-8 file names (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Cyrillic and Arabic code pages) with a live preview to pick another
  • Damaged archives: every readable file is extracted, and the rest are listed
  • Crash-safe extraction into a hidden folder, never overwriting existing files, with protection against paths that escape the destination

Create

  • ZIP, 7Z, TAR (plain, gz, bz2, xz, zst, lz4), single-file GZ, BZ2, XZ and ZST, ISO and CPIO
  • Checks before writing, safe staging on network and external drives, automatic Zip64, and a test of every finished archive
  • Windows-clean zips by default: no __MACOSX, ._ files or .DS_Store, with UTF-8 file names
  • Unreadable files are skipped and reported instead of stopping the whole job

Passwords

  • AES-256 for ZIP and 7Z, optional encrypted 7Z file names, and ZipCrypto as a labeled weak option
  • Password generator and strength meter
  • Keychain vault: saved passwords are tried automatically on encrypted archives, with optional iCloud Keychain sync

Browse, convert and Finder

  • Archive browser with tree and list views, search, Quick Look of files up to 100 MB, Extract Selected and drag-out
  • Convert to ZIP, 7Z or tar.gz without changing the original
  • Finder menu extension, Services menu items, a Quick Look preview for archives, Dock drops and a default-app guide

Price, privacy and requirements

  • Free download with a 14-day free trial, then a one-time $1.99 lifetime unlock with Family Sharing
  • Browsing and previewing archives stays free after the trial
  • No account, no analytics, no ads and no network requests of its own
  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon and Intel; English interface

Planned for 1.1 and later

These are plans, not promises; priorities can change with your feedback.

  • Creating split archives (4 GB, 2 GB or a custom size), including automatic splitting for FAT32 drives
  • Adding, deleting and renaming files inside ZIP, 7Z and TAR archives
  • Arabic interface, followed by French and Brazilian Portuguese
  • Shortcuts actions such as Extract Archive and Compress Files
  • Compression presets for email, Windows and maximum 7Z compression
